My mom’s birthday softball game!!!
Post: February 6th, 2012
Saturday was my mom’s birthday and anyone that knows us knows that we are a softball/baseball family! I played softball ALLLLLL my life. So for my mom’s birthday we thought it would be a great idea to gather all our longtime friends and family for a fun game at the park. My mom was so surprised and happy! All our family came out along with some good family friends.
Everything went off without a hitch EXCEPT in the first inning when I totally jammed my finger trying to catch a fly ball. Don’t ask how it happened. Anyway, my finger was bleeding and swollen and I ended up having to sit out an inning. We ended up taping it up and I played the rest of the game.
Afterwards, we went to a local Shakey’s where we had a room reserved for pizza and cake! About 40 people showed up and it was a great day!
However, as the night went on my finger kept getting worse and worse and my mom ended up taking me to the E.R. at about 10pm where we stayed until about 2am. So yeah, mom mom spent her birthday night sitting in the E.R. waiting room. Sorry mom!! I ended up with a splint on the middle finger of my right hand due to a broken blood vessel. My finger looks so gross and because it’s on my right hand it makes it difficult to do everyday things (like typing this right now).
Anyway, I’m not going to complain because I know people have it far worse then I do, but it does kind of suck! Haha! All in all though it was a great day spent with family and friends! Happy Birthday Mom!
